We approach each project with
environmental opportunities
and our client's needs in
mind. This approach, and our
depth of experience, allows
us to provide accurate and
timely information, allowing
clients to proactively plan and
manage environmental issues
with innovative, cost-effective
solutions. Our experience with
many federal, state, and local
permitting agencies throughout
the Midwest allows us to
provide guidance through the
often complex and confusing
regulatory processes.
Knowledge of
requirements
from prior
experience, combined
with our
reputation and
close coordination
with the regulatory
agencies, produces an efficient
design process with minimal
permitting and construction
delays.
JFNew has completed many endangered species surveys and has botanists and biologists on staff that perform surveys for plants, bats and other mammals, reptiles, mussels, birds, and insects. These studies have been carried out as part of NEPA, EA and EIS documents as well as stand-alone reports.
JFNew provides
ecological assessments
according to state and EPA
protocols. Site investigations
include analysis of wetlands;
streams; rare, threatened, and
endangered species habitats;
plant communities; and other
ecological features. When
appropriate, these services can
be provided independently,
simultaneously, or in
conjunction with a broader
range of studies associated with
the requirements of federally
funded projects.
JFNew can provide habitat
assessments for endangered
species to determine the
potential presence of the
species of concern. This habitat
assessment is often used as
critical information for the
reviewing agencies to decide if
a full survey is required. We can
also provide habitat restoration,
mitigation, and management
plans for rare, threatened, and
endangered species. JFNew
is currently contracted with
the Indiana DOT to provide
these services on an on-call
basis. Additionally, JFNew's
Restoration Management team
and Native Plant Nursery can
be utilized to implement the
mitigation needs.
JFNew provides quantitative
and qualitative botanical
and tree surveys to meet the
requirements of regulatory
agencies and town and village
ordinances throughout the
Midwest. We have biologists
on staff with expertise in
botany and forestry.
As dictated by the
regulatory requirements,
we can inspect the site
and identify individual
species as well as plant
communities . JFNew
then provides a report
documenting our
findings and the data
collected.
